SPECULATION Season 4 or something else – What is Wisteria/Unrecorded Night?

Strange video. Strange song. It's the sort of track I'd expect to turn up in between the sort of tracks that would be singles on an album. Glad I was warned about the flashing lights: I made it through about one and a half minutes before I had to scroll up the screen so I couldn't see the image. It might pass a Harding test, but the flickering light isn't good for me! Last thing I need is a migraine!!

Fwiw, re: what's next up for Lynch after this album coming out in August, there's this from today's new LAT interview with Chrystabell & him:

"The release of 'Cellophane Memories' may just be the beginning of a new round of collaborations [between Chrystabell and] Lynch. Aside from the new album, there are several other recordings in different stages of completion.

"'It’s really about if he has the idea, if he has the inclination,” Chrystabell says. “If that inner motivation isn’t within him, it is not happening. But if it is happening, it’s so great because he really enjoys doing these things. He loves it.'"

There are other interesting bits in this, including him explaining the title of the album, the fact that it includes two old tracks he worked on with Badalamenti, and more:

new interview with the guardian featuring this,
ah, you beat me to posting it...

I'll only add that, FWIW, he's apparentely been listening to the FWWM soundtrack recently:
"He recalls recently listening back to The Voice of Love from Badalamenti’s score for Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. 'Unbelievable emotion came out of that. He was a genius.'"

At this point, even something vague like this gives me hope. It's a far cry from "never" or "I've retired".

Yep. Welp, that was fun while it lasted. Sorry for the rampant speculation, everyone. We'll always have that new Sight and Sound interview where he hints at something vague about his future film work!

From the new interview in Sight & Sound, where Lynch says he can now only direct remotely:
"I've gotten emphysema from smoking for so long, & so I'm homebound whether I like it or not. I can't go out. And I can only walk a short distance before I'm out of oxygen... And now because of Covid, it would be very bad for me to get sick, even with a cold. So I probably would be directing from my house. And because of Covid, they've now invented ways where you can direct from home. I wouldn't like that so much. I like to be there amongst the thing & get ideas there. But I would try to do it remotely, if it comes to it."
He is asked whether his 2010 screenplay ANTELOPE DON'T RUN NO MORE will ever get produced. "Well, we don't know what the future will bring... but we remain hopeful."

It's an interesting interview. A somewhat more lighthearted bit: "[A] lot of times I watch crime shows at night. I like to think & watch TV at the same time. I've seen many Forensic Files [1996-2011]. I've seen probably all of them, but I like to see them over and over again. And apparently, so do other people; they're like friends. It's really fun to watch these crime shows - a lot of studies in human nature, and then the horrible things that humans can do to one another; it's amazing. And the fantastic scientists and detectives who uncover the killers."
